Letter to Annie
My dear Annie,
Rather thay Symonds[?] portrait & the Emerald photos should fall into strange hands I send them to you.
With a late Navy List before me I give you the present whereabouts of the persons whose photographs are in the Emerald collection. The last in the book, Purefoy Fitzgerald, left the service as a Lieutenant. His mother lives in ?????? place, one of the best residential places in London and he had property in ??????[Preston Candover?], Hants. where he died (in Hants.) of pneumonia in an attack of influenza during the late severe weather. When last in town I met him at the Army & Navy Club and regretted his untimely death sincerely the other day.
Your afft. uncle,
Wm. Loney
